I was born and bred in Battersea, South London. My Dad was a respected Crime journalist and author so I spent a lot of my childhood in Fleet Street. We were all Francophiles so I spent all my school years at the French Lycee, peppered with regular trips to France. After leaving school, and after a long stint in the 'rag trade', and some respite being a nanny in Scotland and a Dolphin trainer in Battersea Park (I didn't know any better back then) I went into 'temping' and eventually landed a job at Walt Disney Productions...the rest, as they say, is history. I have been privileged to work with some of the most fascinating and delightful actors, producers and directors, and while I hope it is far from over, I feel very blessed to have played a small part in their cinematic art.
These days I live in Hastings, on the South East coast of England, with my spouse and little Jack Russell, Buddy. We love the sea, and the glorious countryside. When I am not working I am an avid crafter, and love painting and gardening....My most recent projects include MY FERAL HEART, THE BROMLEY BOYS, HOMELESS ASHES, BREAK, THE BOLD, THE CORRUPT AND THE BEAUTIFUL, the Covid-19-delayed THE LONG ROAD, written and directed by Craig Griffith, and a wonderful short film THE MAKING OF ALEX, written, directed by and starring 13 year-old Jessica Fay. Yes, probably my youngest ever client!
I am a versatile French-speaking multi-tasker, highly experienced in all areas of entertainment, having worked on many diverse projects encompassing film, television, music and the world of entertainment. I have many years’ hands-on experience as a Unit Publicist; organizing film and television release/transmission campaigns and events; and ran a busy Press Office at most of the international festivals and markets.
I began my PR career at DDA Public Relations and headed many UK release campaigns (including Grease, Rambo II, Postman Always Ring Twice, Breaking Glass, Quadrophenia, Plenty, Supergirl, The Amityville Horror, Highlander II, III, Amadeus [I then went on to work on all producer Saul Zaentz’s films on an international basis] and many more) working with actors and directors such as Jack Nicholson, Meryl Streep, John Travolta, Franco Zeffirelli, Harrison Ford, Milos Forman, Peter Bogdanovich, Sylvester Stallone, both in the UK and Los Angeles. After a twelve year stint at DDA I left and joined a smaller PR agency (JAC Publicity) where I concentrated on lower budget independent films which included What’s Eating Gilbert Grape (Johnny Depp, Leonardo di Caprio) and Mistress (Robert de Niro) where I liaised with international distributors and sales companies, orchestrated European junkets, and accompanied the leading actors and directors on tour.
I also became involved in UK television production, working as Programme Publicist for Yorkshire Television’s Heartbeat (8 years)- credited; and handled all the unit work and subsequent transmission campaigns for Lynda La Plante dramas which include Supply & Demand (2 series); The Governor (4 series); Trial & Retribution (5 series); The Commander (pilot episode). I also worked on TV dramas for producer Eileen Quinn (Monogram) on productions such as The Russian Bride (Lia Williams, Douglas Hodge, Sheila Hancock), and Bait (John Hurt, Sheila Hancock), as well as independent international television series’ such as The Wanderer starring Bryan Brown.
After a period of freelancing, I returned to DDA, working on major international campaigns for Warner Home Video which involved many events I organized in Cannes, Deauville and Los Angeles. I also headed up DDA’s in-house BAFTA Campaign office.

WOMEN’S DAY (Current and ongoing), award-winning documentary by Dolya Gavanski which includes astounding, untold personal and inspiring stories told by extraordinary women, pioneers and survivors, born in the USSR.
Over the years, film PR has been through many changes. I can well recall sitting in the office typing up press schedules for incoming talent, on a typewriter - sometimes all night, making all the changes meant having to retype it! We had no email, no mobiles, and when I started we didn't even have fax machines! We had landlines, and postage stamps, a Roneo machine and if we were very lucky a telex! But back in the day we also didn't have Personal Publicists. We usually dealt with the artists' assistant or agent, and we were respected for our expertise, and the care we took of their client.
The 'highs' of my career are endless, with memorable experiences that I am so grateful for....grabbing a helicopter to get an actor up to Birmingham for a morning show, and flying back for a lunchtime programme was thrilling. There is nothing like travelling in a private jet, where your pilot and crew are on standby, and of course working with legends! I remember feeding Meryl Streep's baby while she rattled through the interviews for one of her early films; being waited on hand and foot (after a bad fall) by Dee Wallace and her husband replacing the ice packs! Going to the airport to meet Jack Nicholson at 4am was terrifying; and meeting the late Princess of Wales at the Royal Premiere of Amadeus was unforgettable.
I am going to keep the 'lows' close to my chest, but the best (or worse, whichever your point of view) was being called a c**t by a now dead director, while I hosted a table of British journalists for lunch in Cannes! And the time we were held up leaving Berlin when a producer called me to his room to tell me 'there is something wrong with my penis'.....Yes, that really did happen and I got it fixed!
So many golden moments, some a little tarnished with age, but you will have to wait for my book, and some things, a good publicist never tells!
I will give you 100% of my time, and the benefit of my experience and contacts. In this ever-changing world I am always ready to embrace originality and new ideas. If a project comes my way that requires more team members, I have young, innovative marketing experts I can call, who work as tirelessly as I do. I am an avid supporter of independent film makers whose blood, sweat and tears move me to help and support them.
